Salary: £30,024-£32,597 pro rata Pay Award Pending

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Future4Me team in Lincolnshire as a Youth and Community Development Worker, working with young people who may need support in making a positive transition to adulthood. The team currently has one permanent, part‑time Youth and Community Development Worker post in the East Lindsey district.

Please note this is a part‑time vacancy (18.5 hours per week) and the salary will be pro‑rata for hours worked.

The role involves evening working during term times, and a mix of evening and daytime working during school holidays. There are also occasional weekends.

The 18.5 hours are split over at least 3 different days, and the work pattern changes in term time and school holidays. During term times, there are at least 2 late evenings (working up until 9pm) per week. Thursday evenings are mandatory as this is when we run our ‘core’ youth clubs. In school holidays we run holiday activities for 4 weeks in the summer, 1 week at Christmas and 2 weeks at Easter – typically holiday activities take place in the daytimes.

Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK we are unable to offer skilled‑worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements of RQF Level 6.

About You

Are you able to build relationships quickly and effectively with young people? Do you have a calming influence and be able to reassure and support young people? Are you confident working with groups of teenagers? Do you have an understanding of the current societal trends and challenges that impact young people? Do you want a role where you can shape and assist with youth service development?

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work with individuals and groups to help them to identify their own needs and plan a positive way forward. You will be able to communicate, inspire and work restoratively with a range of people. You will be able to work on your own and as part of a team collaborating seamlessly with other project strands in the programme. Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of routine tasks, documents and reports in meeting service goals is also key to the success of the role.

A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential for this role as travel around the county is required. Insurance for business use on your vehicle is also required.

About The Role

The primary aim is to engage and support young people 8‑18, to move successfully through education into adulthood and working life through community provision and targeted interventions.

The role will support and at times lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of youth provision and interventions across identified locations in Lincolnshire. Using a strength‑based and relational approach to enable young people to access a range of opportunities whilst supporting those at risk and most vulnerable.

Through high‑quality provision via open access, group work, holiday activities, one‑to‑one and outreach opportunities including interventions supporting those at risk of antisocial behaviour and entering the youth justice service, enhancing young people’s personal and social skills which result in identifiable positive outcomes and lasting change.

Work collaboratively across the wider Children’s services teams, community, and partner agencies to ensure that young people receive a seamless and effective service.

Fluency Duty: In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Our values: collaborative, adaptable, eco‑conscious, supportive, and responsible – guide everything we do. We’re looking for candidates who share these values and bring them to life in their work, helping us build strong teams and make a real difference in the communities we serve.

Lincolnshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
