Senior Fire Engineer Job in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear
with an established fire engineering consultancy based in Sunderland. The role offers a salary of £50,000 – £55,000 + 4.5-day week + private healthcare + professional development.

Role & Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage large or complex fire engineering projects, taking full ownership of deliverables
2. Provide technical expertise on fire safety strategies, performance-based designs, and complex problem-solving
3. Review and approve technical submissions from subcontractors and consultants
4. Lead design team meetings, workshops, and client presentations
5. Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their professional development
6. Represent the consultancy with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and at project meetings
7. Keep up to date with UK legislation, guidance, and industry best practices, ensuring projects meet the highest standards.
Required Skills & Experience
8. Degree qualified in Fire Engineering (BEng/BSc/MSc) and Chartered (or near completion)
9. Extensive experience delivering fire engineering solutions for UK projects
10. Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, guidance, and design standards
11. Proven experience managing multiple projects and teams concurrently
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
13. UK driving licence preferred but not essential
