Offer description

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 6 Dietitian to join our Adult Eating Disorders and Community Dietetic Services. This is a split post, with 0.6 WTE based within the community Adult Eating Disorders Team and 0.4 WTE supporting the Community Dietetic Service across clinics, community hospitals and wider community settings.

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop specialist skills within eating disorders while maintaining and broadening dietetic expertise across a wide range of community conditions. You will work as part of experienced multidisciplinary teams, delivering high-quality, evidence-based dietetic interventions to adults in community settings.

The Adult Eating Disorders Team delivers NICE recommended interventions including FREED, SSCM, MANTRA and ARFID focused approaches. Training and development opportunities are supported within the service.


Main duties of the job

* Provide specialist dietetic assessment, treatment and review for adults receiving care from the community Adult Eating Disorders Team (0.6 WTE).
* Deliver dietetic care within the Community Dietetic Service (0.4 WTE), working across outpatient clinics, community hospitals and wider community settings using face-to-face, telephone and video appointments.
* Manage a defined caseload, prioritising clinical need and risk while working autonomously within professional guidelines.
* Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to care planning, MDT meetings and case discussions.
* Support service development activities including audit, outcomes monitoring and patient information development.
* Supervise and support students and contribute to the development of more junior staff as required.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be professionally accountable for the delivery of high quality dietetic care to adults with eating disorders and to patients supported by the Community Dietetic Service. Responsibilities include comprehensive nutritional assessment, formulation of individualised care plans, delivery of treatment using evidence based dietetic and behaviour change approaches, monitoring and reporting outcomes, managing risk, and contributing to audit and service improvement.

Within the Adult Eating Disorders Team you will contribute to the delivery of structured NICE recommended models including FREED, SSCM, MANTRA and ARFID related interventions. This will involve working closely with multidisciplinary professionals.

In the community dietetic element of the role, you will provide assessment and intervention across a range of conditions, adapting your approach for different settings and modes of delivery.

Accurate clinical documentation and service activity recording is integral. The post holder will work within HCPC and BDA professional standards, contribute to clinical governance and CPD activity, and participate flexibly across service locations as required.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent
* Registered as a Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council


Experience

* NHS hospital and/or community dietetic experience
* Significant demonstrable post-registration experience in a clinical setting as a Band 5 Dietitian or higher
* Audit experience
* Experience of MUST


Additional Criteria

* Knowledge of a wide range of dietetics to be able to understand the pros and cons of different treatment options in general dietetics
