To undertake, as part of a team and under supervision, the cleaning of designated areas to ensure they are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Routine cleaning of premises and furnishings in all room types during term time, including vacuuming, damp dusting, mopping, machine cleaning floors, polishing, and emptying litter bins.
2. Periodic cleaning during school closure periods, including scrubbing/stripping floors, wall washing, carpet shampooing, and cleaning internal glass.
3. Use of electrical cleaning equipment, e.g., scrubbers, polishers, carpet extraction machines, subject to training.
4. Cleaning of toilets and sanitary areas, including removal of body emissions where necessary to maintain hygiene standards.
5. Working under the direction of the Cleaner in Charge / Site Manager.
6. Inspecting and reporting defects to the Head Teacher or Site Manager.
7. Replenishing consumables such as soap and toilet paper as required.
8. Using access equipment to clean areas not accessible from floor level, following safe work procedures.
9. Participating in the Council’s Personal Performance Development Scheme.
Additional Responsibilities:
Carrying out duties in line with Council policies on equality, promoting a positive, harmonious working environment, and acting as an exemplar in these issues. Monitoring and identifying training needs for yourself and others under your responsibility.
Other Requirements:

Working Hours and Salary:
15-30 hours per week, term time plus 3 weeks. Grade: Grade A, SCP 2, salary approximately £8,926 to £18,073 pro-rata per annum, depending on hours. Location: The Meadows School, Dudley Road East, Oldbury, and Connor Road, West Bromwich. Closing date: 22nd June 2025.
