We have an exciting opportunity for a Butcher in our butchery department within our SPAR Store who likes to have fun working with a team and is passionate about offering excellent service and standards to our customers.
We are looking for someone who is motivated, friendly, hands-on and enjoys working in retail.

Job Purpose
1. The receiving, processing and assembly of products to customer requirements
Key Accountabilities
2. The accurate checking and recording of all goods received and the immediate transfer to the correct temperature controlled storage area
3. Checking all products for quality
4. Ensuring all critical control points are monitored in accordance with the company HACCP plan
5. Adhering to stock rotational procedures at all times
6. The accurate cutting, packing and labelling of all products
7. The accurate assembly of customers’ orders
8. Ensuring that all approved methods and systems with regard to food handling / hygiene are adhered to within the department, in order to prevent contamination / spoilage of product
9. Control of unauthorised personnel within the department
Key Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required
10. Previous demonstrable experience of compliance with relevant practice and regulations/legalities in relation to meat including health and safety, temperature controls and HACCP essential
11. Previous experience within a similar role/environment is essential
12. Knowledge of meat products and the industry is essential
13. Basic education (numeracy and literacy) is essential
14. Food Hygiene Certification is preferred
15. Health and Safety qualification is preferred
16. Demonstrable presentation skills are a must
17. Customer focussed and understands the importance of this to the business
18. Challenges appropriately and identifies areas for improvement
19. Demonstrates integrity, a strong work ethic and upholds the company values and principles
