Infinity Employment are seeking a CMM Inspector for a leading aerospace company specialising in engineering. They are committed to delivering high-quality components with tight tolerances. To perform visual and dimensional inspection of a variety of components within their precision machining division, ensuring they are compliant with required quality standards. Using industry-standard methods to check conformity of product such as CMMs, hand tools including bore mics, verniers and gauges. The high throughput and complexity of components needs a competent and confident Inspector who can work with the Engineering team on a daily basis. A high level of understanding of GD&T is required due to the variability of the product. You will be required to write CofC’s, ISIRs and FAIRs and be able to put in a concession if required. Desirable to have manual handling training and use of lifting equipment, however can be provided if needed. 3 month contract with a possible permanent placement after this time scale. Statement of Accountabilities * Ability to read technical drawings and interpret geometric features/tolerances. * To perform CMM Inspection using Aberlink software on the CMM Machine * Working with various materials including aluminium, steel, castings, cast iron etc. * Operating CMM equipment and the ability to manually measure parts using conventional equipment – verniers, micrometres, gauges, callipers etc. * Documenting quality issues and reporting non-conformances. * Generating CMM Programs to measure components in CNC mode. * Compiling detailed inspection reports. * Complying with standards of safety, company policy that apply to the product. * Expert knowledge of FAIRS. * Adhering to health and safety standards as set out by the company. Key Responsibilities: * Program and operate Aberlink CMM machines using Aberlink 3D software. * Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications. * Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections. * Generate and maintain inspection reports and documentation * Work closely with the Quality, Engineering, and Production teams. * Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve inspection efficiency. Requirements: * Proven experience programming and operating Aberlink CMMs. * Proficient in Aberlink 3D software. * Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances. * Good attention to detail and analytical skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers, height gauges) is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: * Formal qualifications in Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. * Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, medical, automotive). * Familiarity with ISO9001 or AS9100 standards.
