Overview
The successful post holder will work as a dynamic member of the operating department team, effectively contributing to the care of patients and carrying out assigned tasks involving direct care in support and supervised by the team leader or designated deputy. A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Support Worker to assist in providing excellent patient care within Operating Theatres. The successful candidate will support the team of Registered Nurses and ODPs in the safe delivery of care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role requires initiative, prioritisation, calmness under pressure, and strong interpersonal and team-working skills.
Responsibilities
* Support the theatre team and patient preoperatively and intraoperatively.
* Rotate into the role of equipment runner and ensure theatres are set up for the next day.
* Contribute to the smooth running of the theatre complex and provide high standards of patient care.
Qualifications and Skills
* Education to the standards set out in the person specification.
* Good communication skills; able to work well within a busy team environment.
* Ability to use initiative, prioritise, and remain calm under pressure in difficult situations.
* Commitment to providing high standards of patient care and a mature approach to work.
