Engineering Supervisor A brand-new opportunity to step into a senior technical leadership role at AMH Material Handling. The Role As an Engineering Supervisor, you'll act as the technical lead on-site, supporting a team of 12 engineers while working closely with the Engineering Manager and the customer's operational team. You'll balance day-to-day reliability with problem-solving, training, and process improvement, ensuring the automation consistently delivers. Responsibilities Lead and coach the engineering team, building confidence and technical expertise across new and experienced colleagues Provide advanced fault diagnosis and problem-solving, escalating to the senior customer and AMH teams where required. Develop and maintain clear technical processes, documenting solutions to create “how-to” guides and easy-works documentation Manage stores and spares, building supplier relationships and ensuring availability of critical parts Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance is delivered on time and in line with the Computerised Maintenance System (CMMS) Oversee reactive maintenance, minimising downtime and keeping operations running smoothly Support the Engineering Manager and provide cover during periods of absence Identify future projects, upgrades, and lifecycle repairs to improve throughput and reduce obsolescence Uphold high housekeeping and safety standards in all automated areas Be part of the escalation rota, supporting engineers 24/7 on a rolling basis What's in it for you? What We're Looking For Strong background in automation engineering, ideally with exposure to conveyors, cranes, sorters, or hanging garment systems. ONC/HNC or equivalent in engineering (electrical bias preferred), or a time-served apprenticeship with proven experience Confident in advanced fault-finding, diagnosis, and process improvement. Strong communicator, able to build rapport with both engineers and customers. Proactive and organised, with the ability to coach, train, and inspire colleagues.
