GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Classroom Support to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Christchurch, Dorset. This full-time role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in an educational setting, including university students pursuing education, psychology, or related fields.
About the Role:
As a Classroom Support, you will work closely with the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning experiences. You will assist with day-to-day classroom tasks, provide individual and small-group support, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons.
* Assist pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to help them stay engaged and achieve learning objectives.
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil participation.
* Help prepare resources and set up learning activities.
* Foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive atmosphere for all students.
* Support children with additional learning or emotional needs as required.
Ideal Candidate Must Have:
* University students in education, child development, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
* Previous experience working with children, whether in a school, youth setting, or through volunteering, is desirable.
* A genuine interest in education and a commitment to pupil welfare and development.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
* Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
