Job Description
* Job Title: Field Chemist
* Hours: 37.5
* Location: Aberdeen + Offshore
* Salary: Competitive
As a Field Chemist, you will support the Production Support Manager in delivering analytical performance. Your responsibilities include performing sampling and analysis according to recognized international methods and documented procedures, and preparing reports.
Key Accountabilities
* Ensure compliance with all test methods, procedures, and quality systems.
* Coordinate with line managers/onshore support for equipment, methods, or sample issues and initiate corrective actions.
* Identify and implement improvements to laboratory operations to maximize equipment availability and maintain technical standards.
* Maintain adequate stock of consumables for continuous productivity.
* Ensure testing equipment is calibrated, safe, and suitable for use.
* Complete routine sampling, analysis, and reporting as per client procedures.
* Liaise with SGS onshore support.
* Deliver high standards of analytical performance and ensure smooth operation of the laboratory platform.
* Develop positive relationships with clients to provide analytical solutions and ensure service continuity.
Qualifications
How To Be a Successful Candidate
Experience in offshore oil industry analysis, encompassing a broad spectrum of methods to meet client demands, is desirable.
* Valid Medical/BOSIET/MIST certifications
* HNC level in chemistry or related science, or equivalent
Desirable Skills
* Laboratory techniques and documentation preparation
* Knowledge of process management and chemical optimization
* Offshore medical and survival certificates
* MIST online training
* SBT01, Oil in Water, H2S Sampling Experience
