This property developer based in Preston works with several specialist external law firms, and the purpose of this role is to coordinate, manage and drive those firms to ensure smooth progression of all legal matters, focused on ensuring that matters progress efficiently from agreed terms through to completion.
About the Role
Based in the Preston office, you will act as the central point of contact for all legal processes across the group, including acquisitions, disposals, lettings and litigation. You will liaise directly with multiple external solicitors and ensure information flows effectively between them and the internal team.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing property transactions once Heads of Terms are agreed
* Liaising with external solicitors to ensure timely progress
* Coordinating responses to enquiries and information requests
* Chasing progress on searches, title matters and documentation
* Monitoring timelines and identifying potential delays
* Supporting acquisitions, disposals and lettings
* Liaising with litigation solicitors and assisting with instructions and documentation
* Maintaining internal trackers of ongoing legal matters
* Providing clear, concise updates to directors
This role is central to ensuring that all legal and transactional matters move forward efficiently.
Candidate Profile
You need to have some experience in a property‑legal environment, such as:
* Commercial property paralegal
* Conveyancing executive
* Property legal assistant
* Transaction coordinator within a law firm or property company
You should also have experience of handling property transactions and be confident communicating with solicitors, agents and professional advisors.
Ideally, you’ll be
* Highly organised
* Proactive and persistent in driving progress
* Comfortable managing multiple transactions simultaneously
* Familiar with commercial property processes including leases, titles, enquiries and completion procedures
A legal qualification is not required, but a strong practical understanding of property transactions is essential.
