Senior Geotechnical Engineer – Woking
Looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer who will be responsible for providing specialist geotechnical inputs to both onshore and offshore projects, developing engineering scopes for ground investigations, reviewing and analysing geotechnical data (new data and legacy), and providing geotechnical interpretation to generate reports and guidance for projects. In addition, developing and reviewing calculations, reports, and other deliverables in accordance with the project plan will be required.
Typically, the Senior Geotechnical Engineer works in a specialist role within the Civil and Structural engineering team, coordinating with other discipline specialists and outside contractors and consultants as required to address all discipline-specific requirements within the project regarding foundations, earthworks, and other civil and geotechnical works.

Job Responsibilities:
* Perform hands-on engineering tasks, including design calculations and technical notes, and undertake/manage specialist studies and reviews.
* Appreciate multi-discipline engineering design activities and team working to enable progress.
* Support project management in planning and identifying technical issues that could limit progress or impact strategy, schedule, and budgets, and assist in providing solutions.
* Possess the ability to perform wider engineering roles within the Civil Structural Group, such as civil or structural engineering aspects.
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer is accountable to the Civil Structural Group Manager and/or Project Manager, depending on project size and complexity. The role involves collaboration with other specialists and external consultants, formulating resolutions to technical challenges, and providing construction support as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Masters Degree in Engineering, with postgraduate or specialist qualification in geotechnical engineering.
* Chartered Status.
* Experience in the Oil and Gas sector and/or Low Carbon Energy Transition industry.
Skills:
* Technical knowledge in onshore and offshore geotechnical engineering within the energy sector.
* Proficiency with geotechnical tools and software, such as hand calculations, MS Excel, MathCAD, SACS-PSI, L-Pile, GRLWEAP, or equivalents.
* Excellent coordination, supervisory, and communication skills.
* Ability to resolve issues proactively and with attention to detail.
Communication:
* Strong written and spoken communication skills.
* Knowledge of international standards and safety procedures.
