Join to apply for the Supplier Manager role at DWP Digital.
This is a fast-paced role within DWP Digital's Digital Modernisation & Efficiency (DME) team. You will manage supplier relationships end-to-end, drive value, track spend, interpret financial data, resolve issues, and support service transformation. You will work with Commercial Leads and stakeholders across the department to ensure contracts deliver value and meet business needs, acting as a key link between internal teams and external suppliers.
Responsibilities
* Capture supplier requirements, both technical and non-technical, and ensure alignment with internal governance and affordability.
* Own cost models for your portfolio, track spend against contracts, and support procurement planning and strategy.
* Manage supplier relationships from procurement through to performance, ensuring contracts deliver value and meet business needs.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers, serving as a primary point of contact and escalation.
* Drive performance improvements, manage renewals, and ensure supplier arrangements support high-quality, user-focused services.
What you'll need
* Supplier Engagement & Commercial Collaboration – Experience gathering requirements for supplier engagements and working with Commercial teams to place contracts using appropriate frameworks, with focus on value for money.
* Stakeholder Relationships – Ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues, senior managers, and stakeholders, with open and collaborative communication.
* Financial Management – Comfortable with financial data, forecasting spend, and tracking against budget.
* Delivery Under Pressure – Experience delivering work to tight deadlines in fast-paced environments, managing shifting priorities.
* Communication & Negotiation – Strong communication skills and ability to negotiate outcomes that work for the business and department.
Location and hybrid working
Locations: Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne or Sheffield (whichever is most convenient).
Hybrid model: in the office about 40% of the time and 60% home working.
Pay and benefits
Base pay range: up to £39,621, plus 28.9% employer pension contributions. Flexible hours and great work-life balance.
