Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer Vertical Recruitment are working closely with a global, multi-disciplinary consultancy, they are a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide. They pride themselves on combining the resources of a global, multibillion dollar company with local, client-focused delivery in more than 400 locations around the world. We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to join a growing building services team across one of four key UK offices. You’ll play a key role in shaping complex and exciting projects across a wide range of sectors – from life sciences and education to healthcare, defence, and residential. Whether you're stepping into a Principal role or already there, this is an opportunity to lead with impact, support junior colleagues, and make your mark on projects that matter. What you’ll be doing: * Delivering electrical building services designs across all RIBA stages * Leading medium-scale projects independently or contributing to large, complex projects as part of a multidisciplinary team * Supporting and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers * Overseeing calculations, reports, specifications, design drawings and site surveys * Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and design teams, nurturing strong and lasting relationships * Supporting bids and resource planning * Contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team environment What we’re looking for: * A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Building Services or Electrical Engineering * Chartered (or working towards Chartership) * Experience in managing the electrical design of building services projects * Strong understanding of technical standards, current legislation, and sustainable engineering best practice * Proficiency in AutoCAD and ideally Autodesk Revit MEP; experience with Dialux, Relux, Amtech, NBS is highly desirable * Ability to take ownership of design delivery, make sound engineering decisions, and work proactively * A clear communicator with the ability to engage with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants Desirable: * Security clearance to MOD SC level (or eligible to obtain) * Fee estimating and bid writing experience * Strong project planning and reporting skills What’s in it for you? * A forward-thinking and supportive work culture * Flexibility around hours and location to suit your work/life balance * A variety of high-profile and meaningful projects to challenge and inspire * Opportunities for continued learning, development and progression * Competitive salary and benefits package * 1-2 days in the office
