Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Salary: £83 - £100 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time
GSL Education are seeking compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant tomake a positive impact on students' lives by joining a Special Needs School in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, starting in September 2025.
Special Needs Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
* Under the expert guidance and supervision of teacher, conduct learning activities differentiating and tailoring curriculum to meet the needs of assigned students with special needs.
* Create and assess specialised learning activities.
* Encourage students to collaborate and communicate with one another.
* Participate in creating, organising, and carrying out students' individual development plans.
* As students are learning, keep an eye on their behaviour and conduct and take action to address any complex, hard, or challenging issues.
Special Needs Teaching Assistant Requirements:
* Must hold the Right to Work in the UK.
* Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support (, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
* Training in behavior management and de-escalation techniques is desirable.
* Experience working with children who have a variety of disabilities and/or learning difficulties, or an eagerness to go through training.
* Be aware of and knowledgeable about different additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH.
* Confident in the delivery of pre-planned lessons and interventions.
* Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
