Forklift Counterbalance Driver
Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00 (30‑minute unpaid break)
Job Description
A leading manufacturer of kitchen furniture and components based in Oldham is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative for a temp-to-perm position. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, well‑established team in a hands‑on warehouse environment. A valid UK driving licence is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Order Picking
1. Use pick sheets to accurately select products and materials for customer orders.
2. Ensure all items are picked efficiently and correctly.
Quality Control
3. Carry out thorough inspections on finished products.
4. Identify defects or discrepancies and report them promptly.
Loading & Unloading
5. Safely load and unload materials and products from delivery vehicles.
6. Follow correct handling and storage procedures at all times.
Forklift Operation
7. Operate a forklift counterbalance truck when required.
8. Support material movement, loading, unloading, and product repositioning within the warehouse.
Additional Information
This is a physically demanding role involving regular lifting, carrying, and manual handling of heavy items. Although forklift operation is part of the job, the majority of tasks involve manual warehouse duties.
Qualifications & Requirements
9. Valid Forklift Counterbalance License
10. Previous experience in order picking and warehouse operations
11. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
12. Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks
13. Good communication skills and a team‑focused attitude
14. Consistent adherence to health & safety procedures
