The Role
The role is full‑time, based in Pershore with occasional travel to other local offices and clients. We consider flexible hours (e.g., 9am‑3pm) for those who wish to work five days per week.
Responsibilities include delivering high‑quality service to business clients, supporting compliance work, and assisting with advisory assignments. Candidates will have recent practice experience with owner‑managers and their businesses and are offered clear progression paths.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accounts for small limited companies, partnerships and sole traders in accordance with accounting standards.
* Prepare personal and business tax returns, including corporation tax and VAT, ensuring accurate calculation and timely submission.
* Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts and provide training to clients to enhance their finance functions.
* Manage own workflow, meeting deadlines and budgets.
* Mentor junior colleagues and provide day‑to‑day support.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing queries professionally.
* Stay updated on tax legislation and accounting standards to ensure compliance.
* Identify and recommend process enhancements to improve best practices.
Requirements
* AAT qualified accountant (Part‑qualified ACA or ACCA, or foundation level where experience justifies).
* At least 2 years of previous experience in an accounting role within a practice.
* Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools; Xero certification essential, IRIS desirable.
* Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational and time‑management abilities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships with a focus on customer service.
