National Locums are working on behalf on of an NHS trust based in Sussex looking for a locum Consultant in Geriatric Medicine.
The Elderly Care department based within a trust in Sussex are looking for a Locum Consultant in Geriatrics/Frailty to start as soon as possible for 6 months in the first instance.
Core working hours will be Monday – Friday, 08:00-16:00 with no on-call commitment, however weekend working can be negotiated if needed.
The main duties of the job are as follows:
* Manage acute frailty admission via ED through to discharge (short stay) or transfer to relevant frailty ward.
* AM ward rounds and twice daily Board Rounds.
* Provision of specialist in reach to ED where necessary.
* Actively participating and facilitating discharge on the ward.
* Support and supervise junior doctors on the ward.
* Liaise with Rapid Access Clinic for Older People (RACOP) services to support early discharge and/or admission avoidance where necessary.
* Contribute to the electronic and verbal handover of patients.

You must hold full the following in order to be considered:
* GMC license to practise.
* NHS experience in Elderly Care.
* Specialist Registration in Geriatrics is desired.
