We are currently recruiting for Site Supervisors to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire. We are thrilled to announce a major contract win with Yorkshire Water, supporting them in proactively and reactively maintaining their Wastewater Network for the next five years and beyond.
About The Role
* Be responsible for leading operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring seamless end-to-end management of all works while delivering an exceptional customer journey. You will ensure everyone within your team is performing their responsibilities. Your responsibilities will also include carrying out site inspections, coordinating the crews from your depot, managing any fleet issues as well as evaluating employee performance.
* Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree extent of works and Maintain relationships throughout.
* Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
* Experience and ability to encourage and enable personal development.
* Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
* Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
* Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in all activities concerned with the civil works aspects of the contract. Optimise resources by ensuring that the work is scheduled appropriately with the assistance of the scheduling team.
* Responsible for managing the teams fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works. Demonstrate good organisational skills, follow policies and procedures, and develop improvements where necessary.
* Ability to produce method statements and procedures. Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related to work and engineering documentation. Keep records of all work completed and ensure client systems are updating in real time.
* Command respect of the workforce and develop excellent working relationships with all other department personnel as well as client management.
* Must be a confident communicator to liaise with internal and external clients. Able to give instructions in an efficient and effective way to the workforce and responsible for the daily management of the teams.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, location, and placement of pipe sections and understand shoring designs.
* Ensure that work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment, and materials. Prevent wastage and misuse of equipment, materials, and tools. Supervise work crews to optimize manpower and materials, and enforce safety at the work site.
* Familiar with all HS&E and Quality procedures, regulations and strictly enforces them with the workforce under their responsibility.
* Responsible for the day to day well being of the teams under your control; identify, formulate, and implement training programs for the workforce.
* Complies with the highest level of safety during all stages of work to avoid any type of incidents and/or accidents.
About You
* Possess previous experience of supervision within the Waste Water Industry
* Hold a full UK driving license
* This role is about managing people, so previous managerial experience is essential. We aspire to get the best out of all our employees and you will be key to this!

* Exceptional customer service skills.
* Have excellent time management skills, with ability to deliver tasks to deadline
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving targets.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on achieving results.
* Proven experience in a previous Supervisor Role within the Utilities Sector – preferably in the Drainage Industry.
Working Hours & Location
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 47.5 hours per week
* Salary: £38,000 - £42,000
* Location: Malton, Aldwarke, Bradford and surrounding regional areas
* Company Car / Car allowance
* 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
