Scottish Water provides an essential service to local communities across Scotland – providing a reliable supply of fresh water to homes and business, and protecting our environment by treating and managing waste water. This is an exciting opportunity for a Property Service Craftsperson to join our Team.


What You’ll Do

* You’ll work with our wider Property Services and Operations Team to deliver a proactive service to ensure that plant and equipment at our sites is safe and working effectively.
* You’ll apply core Electrical skills, along with Property Maintenance knowledge, to solve issues, collaborating with workplace, planning, operational and estates teams to deliver effective and cost-efficient repairs while driving improvements.
* You’ll work on equipment including 3-phase and single-phase systems, maintenance to motors, motor starters, actuators, control systems and variable speed drives.
* Your safety is paramount: perform risk assessments, select appropriate equipment, maintain essential training, follow safe working practices, and ensure activities align with Procurement procedures and the health and safety policy.


What You’ll Need

* An HNC or NC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering; experience in Property Maintenance is a bonus.
* A commitment to Health & Safety to protect yourself, colleagues, and the public.
* A full UK driving licence for travel to various locations across the appointed geographical area and Scotland as required.
* Willingness to work on a standby rota (paid standby retainer).
* Strong communication with internal and external customers about on-site work, progress updates, and service quality.
* Comfort using computer systems and online learning modules to get up to speed quickly.
* Excellent commitment to Health & Safety for everyone’s protection.

The not-so-small print

* This role is Grade 6 with a starting salary of £36,410, progressing to a maximum of £46,990 with performance.
