The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), to recruit a Quality Inspector. Based in their Omagh office within the Project Delivery team, which is a multi-disciplinary, professional in-house operation that delivers the Housing Executive’s Planned Scheme Improvement programmes. This organisation manages more than 85,000 properties and employs 3,000 staff throughout NI.
Your new role
As the Quality Inspector, you will conduct inspections and measurements on allocated construction sites, ensuring compliance with contract standards, Statutory Regulations, materials, and workmanship. You will inspect records, report findings, measure work completed at various stages, maintain detailed records, and submit these to the Contract Administrator/Project Manager.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you should possess:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in a Technical/Construction-related discipline, plus 2 years’ post-qualification experience in Construction maintenance.
* OR a BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification in a Technical/Construction-related discipline, plus 3 years’ post-qualification experience in Construction maintenance.
* Exceptionally, candidates with 4 years’ relevant experience in Construction maintenance, even without formal qualifications, may also be considered.
What you'll get in return
Salary range: £31,586 - £35,235. You will have the opportunity to work for a large Housing Body on a temporary ongoing contract. The position offers an immediate start with weekly BACS payments, reimbursement of business mileage at 45p per mile, and an excellent work-life balance with 37 hours per week and 35 days of annual leave, including statutory holidays.
