This school is looking for a Maths Teacher to assist with this specialist position. The students at this school are high achievers and absorb the content of lessons planned for them to the best of their abilities. The school has an outstanding Ofsted rating. The ideal candidate:
1. Curriculum Planning and Development:
o Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging maths curriculum that aligns with the educational standards and objectives
o Create lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities within the classroom
2. Classroom Instruction:
o Deliver effective and stimulating maths lessons to secondary school students
o Utilise a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance student understanding and engagement
o Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active student participation and collaboration
3. Assessment and Evaluation:
o Regularly assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods
o Provide constructive feedback to students on their performance and guide them towards improvement
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student grades and achievements
4. Differentiation and Individualised Instruction:
o Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying levels of ability and learning styles
o Provide additional support or challenges for students as needed to ensure academic success for all
5. Parent and Stakeholder Communication:
o Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, upcoming events, and classroom activities
o Collaborate with colleagues and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student performance and address any concerns
6. Professional Development:
o Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in mathematics education
o Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Requirements
* Bachelor s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master s degree is a plus)
* Teaching certification or license in secondary education with a focus on maths
* Proven experience teaching maths at the secondary school level
* Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Passion for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment
* Enhanced DBS Certificate
