Behaviour Support Mentor – Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Location: Stockport Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time Daily Rate: £89 – £105 (PAYE) Overview: A specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Stockport is seeking a confident and emotionally intelligent Behaviour Mentor to support secondary-aged students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. The role is ideal for candidates with a background in youth work, psychology, or behaviour intervention. Responsibilities: Support students aged 11–16 with complex behavioural and emotional needs. Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model. Deliver short intervention sessions focusing on behaviour, resilience and engagement. Work alongside teaching staff to implement behaviour strategies and re-engagement plans. Support with behaviour de-escalation and restorative practice. Requirements: Previous experience in youth work, alternative provision or PRUs is essential. Ability to remain calm and confident under pressure. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and positive behaviour approaches. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
