Priory St Brannocks is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full‑time role, 07:30am – 20:00pm (12.5‑hour shifts across 7 days, including sleep nights). Pay: £13.20 per hour.
St Brannocks is located in New Romney, Kent. The residential service supports six people with varied disabilities, including autism. Our home is situated on a main road, less than 10 minutes’ walk to the town centre. We provide a safe, homely environment where residents can make their own choices about the support they receive.
What youll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team committed to residents’ wellbeing, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. Your positive attitude will be key, along with a friendly, patient approach to work.
Responsibilities
* Supporting with personal care tasks (washing, dressing, eating)
* Performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, changing bed clothes)
* Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
* Assisting with medical appointments
* Observing, monitoring and recording physical and emotional wellbeing, reporting changes to senior staff
* Supporting development of family connections and liaising with specialists (Speech & Language Therapy, Learning Disability teams)
* Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth
What youll bring to the role
Resilience is key. Your natural empathy will help you support others through both highs and lows. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, caring nature, empathy, patience, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to understand and follow policies and procedures. Competent in verbal and written English. A healthcare qualification is desirable but not essential.
