Fortiva – Mechanical Project Engineer, Almondsbury, England, United Kingdom (Permanent)
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer on a permanent basis. As a Project Engineer, you will provide support to ensure the effective delivery of activities in the programme to required safety, quality, time and cost targets, while recognising and managing the impacts of the programme on the wider Project.
Responsibilities
* Driving the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.
* Developing and implementing strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised, and executed.
* Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or programme EP strategies within their contract or package of work.
* Monitoring and manage the progress of the schedule - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
* Anticipating, managing, and resolving issues within the contract or package. Identifying risks and facilitating the resolution of all issues raised, developing, and updating the programme budget, and escalating any issues to the Delivery Manager.
Qualifications / Skills
* Educated to ONC level (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering (Piped Systems, HVAC, Drainage Heating & Cooling) working towards HNC (Preferred).
* Educated to Nuclear installation standards including safety critical systems.
* Working towards Professional Qualification in Project Management such as APM PMQ or other recognised qualification.
* Track record of delivering projects in complex environments, from concept to handover, within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
* Experience of working on heavily unionised sites and working alongside IR managers and Trade union representatives.
* Experience in working with Qualified equipment products and services including supporting the EQ process.
* Experience working alongside the QA team to ensure quality compliance including all records, audits and process.
* Understanding of nuclear safety culture and experience working on projects where this forms the basis of the Health & Safety agenda.
