Rates we can offer range from of £72.28(Pan London social rate) - £105 PAYE per hour, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 schedule, with potential on-call
Qualifications & Training
MRCP / FRCP / MBBS (or equivalent)
Fully registered with the GMC
Preferably a Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Acute, General or Geriatric Medicine
Experience
Experience of leading Acute, General or Geriatric admitting medical team
Experience of working with allied professions
Able to lead and make consultant level decisions in Orthogeriatrics/Peri-operative Medicine/Ambulatory medicine
Clinical Knowledge and skills
Ability to take on full & independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
Ability to practice independently in Acute, General or Geriatric Medicine.
Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range Acute, General or Geriatric medicine related problems
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent clinical skills
Geriatric Medicine Key Responsibilities:
Ward-based work:
Providing care for patients on elderly medicine wards, including daily reviews and consultant ward rounds.
Acute frailty assessment:
Working in frailty assessment units or liaising with other specialties to provide timely assessment and management of frail older adults.
Inpatient and outpatient care:
Participating in both inpatient and outpatient clinics, potentially including rapid access clinics.
Liaison with other specialties:
Providing specialist opinions to other hospital teams regarding older adult care, particularly in frailty and Orthogeriatrics.
On-call responsibilities:
Sharing on-call duties, which may include stroke on-call, weekend cover, or overnight on-call for Older Person's medical needs. (Not a requirement for every position we have available)
Acute Medicine Key Locums
Acute Medical Unit (AMU):
Consultant review of inpatients on the AMU, typically including ward rounds and overseeing patient management.
Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)/Ambulatory Care:
Leading the assessment and management of patients in SDEC or Ambulatory Care units, potentially including a late shift or afternoon session.
Acute Take:
Managing the acute medical take, potentially leading the assessment of new patients admitted through the emergency department.
On-call:
This could involve weekday nights, weekends, or a combination, with varying levels of intensity depending on the hospital's setup and staffing depending on the position (Not a requirement for every position we have available)
General Medicine Key Responsibilities:
Ward Rounds:
This includes attending ward rounds, reviewing patients, and managing their care.
Outpatient Clinics:
Consultations with patients in outpatient settings.
Procedures:
Performing specific procedures related to General Medicine.
Emergency Care:
Responding to and managing acute medical emergencies.
On-Call Duties:
This involves being available to provide medical care outside of regular hours, either from home or on-site. (Not a requirement for every position we have available)
