You'll be part of a supportive, high-performing finance team operating in a complex and fast-moving environment. The business is transitioning from a mid-size, entrepreneurial setup into a more integrated structure within a larger international group. This offers exposure to both hands-on operational accounting and higher-level commercial insight. Hybrid working is on offer, with 3-4 days per week in the Avonmouth office and travel to Manchester once per month. During the initial training period, your time will be split between the Avonmouth and Chipping Sodbury sites before settling fully in Avonmouth. How you'll make an impact This is a broad, autonomous role suited to a technically strong Management Accountant who enjoys both detail and big-picture thinking. You'll be trusted to take ownership of month-end, reporting, and improvements while supporting the wider transformation strategy. Take full ownership of the month-end close process including journals, reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments. Deliver insightful reporting to senior stakeholders, including variance analysis and commentary. Work cross-functionally to support the business through change and process integration. Help improve systems and reporting, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with the wider team and group finance to ensure smooth financial operations. Support occasional ad hoc projects or business initiatives as the business evolves. Confident leading and developing others, able to oversee team deliverables, support junior staff, and foster a collaborative, accountable working environment. ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent. Strong technical accounting experience, ideally in a management accounting role. Confident with SAGE. Comfortable managing complexity in a large, changing environment. Proactive, solutions-focused, and mature in your communication style. Proven ability to lead and develop team members, ideally with experience managing a small finance team or mentoring junior staff through complex reporting and month-end responsibilites.
