 
        
        Overview
This post holder will be a SCPHN Qualified School Nurse, who will provide specialist advice and evidence-based practice to Clients and Schools in Enfield to ensure that Children and Young People with Long Term Health conditions are well supported and have a safe environment at school.
Influencing the work undertaken by the wider school nursing workforce.
Responsibilities
 * Support the 0-19 Service Team to achieve Asthma Friendly Accreditation in Enfield Schools, maintain and update this Accreditation.
 * Work in partnership with the 0-19 School Nursing and Health Visiting Teams, service users and all stakeholders to promote the health and well-being of Children, Young People aged 5-19 years and their families.
 * Identify and monitor health needs of a given population using profiling tools and facilitate the implementation of evidence-based care.
 * Manage and prioritise workload according to the identified health projects needs within a defined caseload, keeping accurate data and measuring success of work via audits and Clinical Governance.
 * Keep contemporaneous notes and accurate records and maintain client/school/family hub confidentiality according to NMC and Trust guidelines.
 * Adhere to all Trust policies, procedural guidelines and current legislation and ensure up to date with all internal training and development.
 * Write reports and collect current data regarding progress and changes made in the community on a monthly basis, also speak and communicate with service users in a caring professional manner.
 * Contribute to policies and the development and implementation of care pathways.
 * Participate in research/audit and statistical data which are approved and agreed.
 * Maintain equipment and report to senior staff when there is any malfunction.
 * Ensure the correct use and storage of resources.
 * Lead and manage supervision and delegation of duties of support staff, provide professional guidance.
 * Participate in health promotion and health education programmes for client group within communities to support Public Health Outcomes.
 * Be aware of Health and Safety hazards in the working environment and report them to senior staff.
 * Have excellent computer skills and be willing to undertake IT training to develop skills in electronic record keeping and data collection.
 * Drive for liaison with agencies and attend meetings and training.
 * Ensure up to date with NICE guidance and how to implement into day-to-day clinical practice.
