Head of Business Operations - Public Sector Regulator (Contract)

We are partnering with a UK-wide independent regulator to appoint an experienced Head of Business Operations on an initial 6-month contract. This is a senior leadership role within a high-profile, fast-paced and politically sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic and operational delivery of core regulatory functions, including the registration and oversight of regulated entities
Oversee the receipt, publication and assurance of statutory financial submissions, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks
Make evidence-based, risk-informed decisions on complex regulatory matters
Own and manage quality management systems and regulated data, ensuring best practice in governance and information handling
Contribute to wider organisational leadership, working closely with other senior stakeholders on regulatory strategy and delivery
Build and maintain senior-level relationships across government, regulated organisations and key stakeholders
Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing operational team, driving performance and continuous improvement
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a regulatory, public sector or governance-focused environment
Strong understanding of compliance, risk management and operational delivery
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in high-profile and sensitive settings
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging at senior levels
Track record of leading teams and delivering against strategic objectives
Candidates must be eligible to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks.
