Reablement Assistant – Social Care Non-Qualified
Hours: 35 Hours Per Week (Monday to Friday, 9am – 4pm)
Contract: 12 Week Temporary Contract (Covering Vacancy During Recruitment)
We're recruiting a Reablement Assistant to join Liverpool City Council's Adult Social Care & Health team. This is a supportive role, ideal for someone reliable, compassionate, and committed to helping individuals maintain independence and dignity in their own homes.
About the Role
As a Reablement Assistant, you'll work with service users to meet their physical, social, and emotional needs, supporting them to improve and maintain daily living skills. You'll contribute to person-centred care plans, liaise with professionals, and promote independence while respecting individual values and cultural needs.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting service users with tasks as agreed in care and support plans
* Helping individuals improve and maintain daily living skills using appropriate equipment
* Working alongside allied health and social care professionals to minimise risk and enable independence
* Implementing person-centred support plans and participating in assessments and reviews
* Promoting dignity, empowerment, and respect for cultural, spiritual, and religious needs
* Maintaining accurate records and reporting significant changes to the Line Manager
* Supporting service users in activities and recreational pursuits
* Attending supervision sessions and contributing flexibly to changing service needs
* Ensuring compliance with City Council policies, health and safety legislation, and equal opportunities

You'll ideally have:
* Up-to-date classroom Manual Handling (M&H) training certificate (not online)
* Experience supporting individuals in a care or health setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to confidentiality, dignity, and empowerment of service users
