Main duties of the job
As animportant part of the MDT, you will contribute to specialist autism diagnosticassessments, formulation and recommendations.
Undertakeassessments of communication, both informal and formal standardisedassessments.
Undertakeclinical work with individuals and groups, providing advice, resources,strategies and workshops, as appropriate.
Mentorparents, teaching staff and other carers in skill building communication andthe development of nurturing language learning environments for children withspeech and language needs.
Communicateresults of assessment and make recommendations within the multidisciplinaryteam and to families.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Clinical TeamManager:
Superviseless specialist Speech and Language Therapists, offering advice andtraining where needed
Supportthe development of the Speech and Language Therapy pathway within theAutism Diagnostic service, and support development of the new Speech andLanguage Therapy Intervention pathway
Undertakespecialist assessments of communication, both informal and formalstandardised assessments
Communicateresults of assessment and therapeutic findings with the multidisciplinaryteam
Undertakeclinical work with individuals and groups, providing advice, resources,strategies and programmes, as appropriate, using specialist skills andautism specific approaches where required
Supportin developing the post-diagnostic communication workshops andrecommendations to parents and teachers, ensuring they are up to date withthe evidence base
Main Duties:
Supportthe development of communication training programmes and communicate theseto our Communication Trainers for implementation
Directand supervise less experienced SaLTs, using specialist skills anddeveloping leadership skills
Contributeto the working of the multi-disciplinary team and act as a specialistresource for communication issues
Aspart of the team engage actively in practice development, evaluation,audit and research activities to inform evidence-based practice
Underthe direction of the Clinical Team Manager support and manage the SaLTs
Whereappropriate share and disseminate research findings with professionalcolleagues in the interests of practice development
Providementorship and clinical supervision for practice education placements forstudents of Speech and Language Therapy
Aspart of the SaLTs team, participate in the specialist education andtraining of professional and clinical colleagues, students, visitors andvolunteers.

Contributeto supporting other colleagues in their CPD, particularly in relation tocommunication
