We currently have an exciting opportunity on the Children's Ward, Furness General Hospital for a substantive clinical leader position. The Children’s Ward is a busy mixed speciality unit providing care for a wide range of conditions. It compromises a 14 bed inpatient ward, 8 bed day care unit, and a 4 bed assessment unit. Have continuing responsibility for the delivery of care needs and maintenance of clinical standards rotating through CYP services for Inpatients, Day Care and Assessment Unit Provide effective leadership and support to all grades of staff; planning and directing activities to provide optimal standards of care Ensure that the ward/department is clean and provides a safe environment for children, parents and staff Deputise for Senior Nurses when required Undertake Directorate Site Based Management Responsibilities As Required. We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
