Associate Director - Planning & Strategic Consulting
Join AECOM as an Associate Director in Transport Planning and Strategic Consulting. Lead projects that enhance connectivity, sustainability, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute initiatives to grow the transport planning practice.
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with public sector agencies, private developers, and infrastructure operators.
* Project Delivery: Oversee complex transport planning projects, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline goals.
* Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities, lead bids and proposals.
* Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team.
Core Projects
Transportation studies covering all modes, modelling and data analytics, localised and strategic transport model development, collaborative work across multi‑disciplinary projects.
Qualifications
* Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or related field.
* Membership in professional bodies such as CIHT or TPS.
* Extensive experience in transport planning, proven track record in winning work and leading teams.
* Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results.
* Comprehensive knowledge of UK&I transport planning principles, policies, and regulations.
* Expertise in transport modelling (strategic and local) and transport economics.
* Understanding of technical requirements of major public clients in the region.
* Proficiency in commonly used transport planning tools and software.
