Export Control Officer
Wotton under Edge / Hybrid working (office based 3 days a week)

We are currently recruiting for an Export Control Officer to work within our Group Export Control Team in our global HQ.
You will report directly to the Group Head of Export Control and work in close collaboration with global stakeholders in many different aspects of the business. You will be part of a team driving our corporate compliance with export control and sanctions regulations.
Whilst the ideal candidate will already have some experience in this field, you can expect ongoing training and development in identifying and mitigating the risk of diversion & sanctions breaches, policy design and implementation. Progression in the role would likely involve delivering internal training and engaging with the operational areas of our business to foster a collaborative culture of export compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with identifying and assessing risks related to export control and sanctions, with a particular focus on the risk of diversion.
2. Support the development and implementation of strategies to mitigate identified risks.
3. Monitor and analyse changes in export control laws and sanctions regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
4. Support the design and delivery of training and awareness sessions for employees on export control and sanctions compliance.
5. Assist in delivery of materials to ensure that all relevant staff are aware of their responsibilities and the importance of compliance.
6. Collaborate with various operational areas of the business to integrate compliance measures into daily activities.
7. Assist with regular internal reviews to ensure compliance with export control and sanctions regulations.
8. Support the design and communication of company policies and procedures related to export control and sanctions compliance.
9. Maintain accurate records of export and sanctions related activities and report on status as required.
10. Support investigations into potential violations of export control and sanctions regulations.
11. Support the implementation of corrective actions to address compliance issues and prevent future occurrences.
Key requirements
12. Degree qualified in International Trade, Law, Business Administration, or operational experience in a related field.
13. Knowledge of the fundamentals of international export control laws and sanctions regulations, particularly within the UK, EU & US.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
15. Experience in the industrials and / or defence sector preferred.
