Job Title: Registered Children’s Home Manager
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate individual to join a well-established provider as the Registered Manager of a solo or small-group Children’s EBD home based in Birmingham.
This role is ideal for a strong Deputy Manager with Ofsted experience who is now ready to take the next step in their career, or an experienced Registered Manager looking for a fresh challenge.
You will be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and outcomes for the children and young people. The home supports children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, providing a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where they can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the home in line with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Home Regulations (2015)
Ensure the home consistently meets ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ inspection outcomes
Deliver high-quality, child-centred care that meets the individual needs of each child
Oversee the development and implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
Manage, supervise, and develop a team of support workers, including recruitment, training, and performance reviews
Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, social workers, and external professionals
Maintain accurate records and reports in line with regulatory requirements
Be responsible for the home’s budget, occupancy levels, and resources to ensure financial sustainability

What We’re Looking For

Experience working in a children's residential setting, with a strong understanding of EBD and complex needs
Experience working with Ofsted and a clear understanding of inspection frameworks and safeguarding requirements
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role within children’s residential care (e.g. Deputy Manager or above)
Ideally holds or is working towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
Excellent leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills
Resilient, passionate, and committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable children
Ability to lead by example, motivate staff, and build a supportive team culture
A clear Enhanced DBS check and registration as a fit person with Ofsted (or willingness to apply)
