About the Role
Connex Education is working in partnership with a highly successful all-age special school in Braintree to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team from September. The school caters for students aged 3–19 with a wide range of severe and complex learning difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring and motivated individual to work in a modern, purpose-built setting with excellent facilities, supporting pupils through tailored educational programmes designed around their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide classroom-based and 1:1 support to students with complex SEND
2. Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
3. Support pupils with communication, sensory, and behavioural needs
4. Work as part of a large, experienced team of teaching staff and specialists
5. Encourage student independence and engagement through structured routines
6. Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Assignment Details
7. Working Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
8. Term time only

Person Specification
10. Experience supporting children with additional needs – desirable but not essential
11. Strong team player with a willingness to learn and grow
12. Flexible to work across all age ranges (EYFS to post-16)
13. A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
14. Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
15. DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex
