The Role
As a Functional Assessor, you will play a crucial role in assessing how individuals' disabilities or conditions impact their work life. Your clinical expertise will shine as you:
* Conduct thorough assessments by listening to each person's medical history and performing physical examinations.
* Produce concise and accurate reports for the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) to determine eligibility for benefits.
* Engage with individuals both face-to-face and via telephone/video, ensuring a compassionate and sensitive approach.
You'll have the time you need to focus on each assessment, working independently while being part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team.
About You
We’re looking for someone who meets the following criteria:
* HCPC Registered Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, or Paramedic with at least 12 months of recent, broad-based post-registration experience.
* Experience in functional assessment and clinical decision-making is a plus.
* Continuous Professional Development (CPD) documented on your CV.
* Membership in a relevant professional body.
* Completion of ECDL or equivalent is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of clinical governance and customer service standards.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficient IT skills and experience with various software.
* Self-aware and committed to professional growth.
* Honest, maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
* Motivated to deliver quality customer service with empathy and respect.
* Able to work independently while being a reliable team player.
* Eligible to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).
