MES is looking for a Sales and Service Coordinator to join our team. This role is currently held by a long standing employee looking to retire. The first few months of the job will be spent shadowing her and learning from her vast experience. A sales and service coordinator sits at the intersection of the sales team and the customer — handling the administrative and logistical side of the business, Coordinating our engineers and keeping customers happy after the sale. Successful applicant will work from our premises in Totton Southampton.
Core Responsibilities:
Sales support — preparing quotes, proposals, and contracts; processing orders; maintaining records; and giving the sales team the admin backup they need.
Customer service — acting as a point of contact for existing customers, handling enquiries, complaints, and requests.
Order management — tracking orders from placement through to delivery, chasing up any delays, and keeping customers informed.
Coordination — liaising between sales, engineering, logistics, and finance to make sure commitments made to customers are actually fulfilled.
Day-to-Day Activities:
Responding to customer emails and calls.
Raising and processing purchase orders or invoices.
Scheduling and organising our engineers.
Generating sales of equipment and spares.
MES has a tight knit team with low staff turnover. As such we will be looking for the following skills and qualities:
Strong organisation and attention to detail.
Good communication.
Comfort with data entry and administrative systems.
The ability to juggle multiple priorities and stay calm under pressure.
Ability to work well in a tight knit team.
Knowledge of the Marine industry (Commercial or Naval) - Essential.
