The Exciting Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Junior Learning Technologist to join our Learning and Development Team on a temporary basis covering maternity leave, working 37 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be at the forefront of enhancing students and teachers’ knowledge and skills through E-Learning technologies. You do not need to be an expert in the technologies we use but have some knowledge of computing and IT and be keen learn and develop. This job will offer opportunities to develop your knowledge in content creation within the E-Learning field. You will be able to attend training and events to develop your own skills to ensure that we can then cascade to teachers and students.

Good written and verbal communication and time management is essential to this role.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington & Rossendale College but may be required to travel across sites.

What You Will Be Doing:

* Reporting into the Senior E-Learning Technologist, (working as part of the E-learning Team) contributing to supporting staff in using E-Learning technologies to enhance learning
* Developing knowledge within the field of learning technology and actively seek to keep up-to-date with learning technologies innovation and practice, in particular our top 8 software packages which we promote at the college
* Providing advice, guidance, encouragement and support on the use of technology across the college, including facilitating access to expertise, services and resources relating to learning technology
* Developing resources to support teachers embed E-learning, both in the classroom and beyond, through blended learning
* Working closely with other college teams, in particular the IT Team to assist in the procurement and introduction of new learning technologies that are appropriate for the different teaching and learning settings.
* Searching out and being involved in collaborative projects with colleagues, e-learning communities and other providers; including research, monitoring and evaluating, where appropriate.
* Support monitoring the effectiveness of the use of technology in teaching and learning and the impact it has in teachers, learners and learning.

What We Are Looking For:

* Relevant qualification or skills in IT
* Current knowledge and understanding of IT and information learning technologies
* A willingness to learn and develop knowledge and skills with regards to e-learning and mentoring and supporting staff and students
* Someone who is passionate about education and wants to enhance students experience using IT and E-learning
