We are looking to appoint a high calibre individual to the role of Directorate Manager for the Peri-Operative and Anaesthetics Directorate. The role will be highly visible and will require a highly skilled leader with extensive senior management experience working within complex organisations. If you have experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams and have a passion for both operational management and leadership, then this role could be for you.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to funding. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Working alongside the Clinical Director and Lead Nurse, the Directorate Manager is responsible for the effective strategic and operational management, of the service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient services within the resources available.
The postholder will have a key role in providing business development support to the Directorate and Clinical Board. They will also be responsible for the management of clinical and non-clinical staff in the Directorate ensuring staff are managed in line with the UHB’s employment policies.
The Directorate Manager will take a lead role in developing the strategy for the service in line with the Clinical Board and UHB’s overall strategy and service improvement programme. This will include playing a key role in identifying opportunities for clinical innovation and modernisation, the delivery of all operational performance targets, waiting list and financial management, theatre utilisation and management.
Finally, the postholder will be responsible for engaging in and driving aspects of work associated with the Optimisation Framework for Theatres and they will also take a lead role in implementation of the ‘Getting Things Right First Time’ Recommendations.
