PC/EPOS Field Service Engineer | Ideally located in Manchester - will be covering North West England| Full Time | Up to £30,000 depending upon experience
Our client is a nationwide IT support organisation established in 1988 working in partnership with manufacturers, software houses, and system integrators. They offer their clients a structured “break fix” service along with engineering resources for installations and rollouts.
They also provide support for network infrastructures including server build and support, data centre hosting and management.
Are you the right person for the job?
* Basic PC/EPOS hardware and software knowledge (training provided)
* Full UK driving licence and a genuine interest in field-based work
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends
* Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
What will your role look like?
* Carry out 4–5 field visits per day (approx. 35,000 miles per year)
* Install new PCs and set up required hardware
* Reinstall Microsoft operating systems and perform full PC rebuilds
* Troubleshoot and repair receipt printers down to the assembly/component level
* Repair cash drawers, including replacement of springs and solenoids
* Diagnose and repair laser printers to component level
* Identify faults in barcode scanners and carry out necessary repairs or replacements
* Troubleshoot virus infections and general hardware/software faults
* Work independently after training, with a logical and practical problem-solving approach
