Rising to up to £42,598 from April 2026.*Working Hours: 33* hours per week over 4 days, working one in four Fridays, 52 weeks per year.*Performance and Retention Bonus:* A Performance and retention bonus of up to £2000 will be received and paid three times over a three-year period, providing relevant criteria is met.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Plumbing Lecturer to join our Construction department.The College have successfully secured funding from the Greater Lincolnshire LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) and have created a multi-million-pound centre of excellence for sustainability and renewable energies. The project transformed our provision with industry-standard workshops, equipment, and digital learning spaces. The Energy Centre allows us to expand our provision and offer new Engineering and Construction courses in electrical installation, plumbing, gas fitting and renewable energies including solar, wind, and air source heating. Together with our Institute of Technology, the Energy Centre marks a flagship investment by Grantham College in training for the jobs of the future).The purpose of the role is to be responsible for teaching various Renewable Energy, Gas, Plumbing and Domestic Heating qualifications at Levels 1, 2 and 3 on Full time students and/or Apprentices and assisting with the development of the Construction curriculumThe successful applicant must have:· City and Guilds L3 Diploma or other awarding body in Plumbing and Domestic Heating or NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Domestic Heating or equivalent.· Appropriate industrial experience· Good communication and problem solving skills· Good administrative /IT skills· The ability to work to deadlines· The ability to recognise opportunities to develop the construction curriculumThe roles main duties include:· To teach, assess and as appropriate, internally verify various Renewable Energy, Gas and Plumbing construction courses up to level 3, on site and off site to students and/or apprentices· To support the development and expansion of the Construction Curriculum, including the Full Time and Apprenticeship provisions.· To ensure that the Construction Curriculum is fully up to quality standard and to assist with the further development of the Construction Centre.· To assist in the marketing of the College provision through attendance at Careers Conventions, Open Days and other promotional events.· To provide vocational support and guidance to learners and apprentices. To track and target individual student/apprentice progress.· To carry out administrative duties associated with teaching and apprenticeship delivery, including maintenance of registers, schemes of work, assessments, reports, course records and course evaluations to a good standard and within established deadlines.· To assist in the development of curriculum support materials.· To carry out any course leadership duties as directed by the Head of Curriculum for plumbing programmes (either Full Time or Apprenticeships)· To ensure safe working practices are observed by yourself and others (including students) for whom you are responsible.· To provide such returns or reports as may from time to time be required by the Head of Curriculum or College.· To assist in the recruitment of students and apprentices, including interviewing and enrolments.· To assist with programmes of work experience and/or industrial and commercial liaison, including the organisation and monitoring of work experience placements.This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.
