The ideal applicant will have had experience in administrative tasks previously. Be able to copy type documentation and general correspondence, have good knowledge of IT systems and are keen to learn. You will be able to work as an integral part of the wider Seamoor Admin team and be willing to learn new skills. The role requires excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills and you will need to be able to remain calm and professional when faced with changing or challenging situations.

The post holder will fulfil all tasks associated with the smooth running of the Seamoor administration department, liaising with other departments as necessary. As well as dealing with requests to access health records, diary management, typing letters, clinic preparation, reception duties, the booking of follow up appointments and Chemotherapy appointments, the post holder may be required to conduct some financial and personnel tasks processing of invoices, payroll, petty cash/banking administration.

To provide administrative support to the operational team which may include typing documents, minute taking and typing of minutes in the absence of the Administration Lead, filing and entering information onto computer systems in accordance with Trust policies.

The post holder will be the first point of contact for patients to the establishment; this will include dealing with routine queries and providing information to patients’, relatives and staff either face to face or over the phone. The post holder will provide reception cover in the Seamoor Unit and will operate a switchboard system.

You will have a good standard of education with an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience. We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic, motivated and adaptable administrator to join our friendly team. Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals to be responsible for the organisation of the administration and a clerical (A&C) team within the Seamoor unit at North Devon District hospital. The candidate will ensure the provision of an effective and responsive team, organising and prioritising workload on a daily basis to ensure deadlines are met and all direct enquiries are acted upon appropriately.

This is an exciting, varied and responsible post requiring a high standard of organisational and communication skills. You will have leadership abilities, as well as being able to use your own initiative in prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
