Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Northwich, United Kingdom. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Shifts Patterns will consist of Mornings shift 08:00am-14:00pm and Lates shifts 15:30pm-21:30pm and there will be a requirement of 1 late shift per week.
1. Assist service users with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
2. Support with medication management, ensuring prescribed medicines are taken correctly and on time
3. Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary
4. Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment
5. Provide companionship and emotional support to service users
6. Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment when required
7. Monitor and report any changes in service users' health or wellbeing to the care coordinator
8. Maintain accurate records of care provided and any incidents or concerns
9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
10. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
11. Participate in regular training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
12. Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as per the needs of service users
13. Travel within Northwich and surrounding areas to provide support at various locations
14. Requirement to work alternative weekends
Qualifications
15. Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach
16. Excellent time management and organisational abilities
17. Basic healthcare knowledge and understanding of person-centred care
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
19. Physical stamina to perform care tasks and assist with mobility
20. Previous experience in domiciliary care or a similar role is preferred
21. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is desirable
22. First Aid certification is advantageous
23. Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to protecting vulnerable adults
24. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
25. Valid driving licence and access to own vehicle may be required
26. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
27. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
28. Basic IT skills for accurate record-keeping
29. Enthusiasm for making a positive difference in people's lives
30. DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check clearance
31. Patience and resilience in challenging situations
