Job Summary
Unique opportunity to complete the Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) starting September 2026. This 52‑week Level 7 programme is delivered by Liverpool John Moores University. Applicants will interview with a 10‑minute presentation on how and why they are ready to undertake the Diploma.

Main Duties of the Job
* Provide comprehensive assessments of the health needs of clients.
* Raise awareness about health and social well‑being and related factors, services, and resources.
* Raise awareness about the actions that groups, and individuals can take to improve their health and social well‑being.
* Develop, sustain, and evaluate collaborative work.
* Collaborate in a multi‑disciplinary environment to ensure children are safeguarded.
* Develop capacity and confidence of individuals and groups, including families and communities, to influence and use available services, information and skills, acting as an advocate where appropriate.
* Identify and evaluate service provision and support networks for individuals, families and groups within the local area.
* Identify individuals, families and groups who are at risk and in need of further support.
* Develop and sustain relationships with groups and individuals with the aim of improving health and social well‑being.
* Undertake screening of individuals and populations and respond appropriately to findings.
Person Specification
* Essential Qualifications and Professional Training
o Current first level registration.
o Hold a degree in Nursing or Midwifery, or evidence of recent successful study at level 6 or 7.
o Minimum 2 years post‑registration experience of professional practice.
* Desirable Qualifications
o Up‑to‑date professional portfolio demonstrating evidence of reflective practice.
* Essential Experience and Knowledge
o Appreciation and application of research in professional practice.
o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
o Ability to plan and organise own work.
o Ability to study independently at Level 7.
* Desirable Experience and Knowledge
o Experience of supervising or assessing students.

o Understanding of the role applied for.
o Sound knowledge of health policy relating to Public Health and Primary/Community Care.

Benefits
Salary: £32,073 to £39,043 a year pro rata.
Working pattern: Full‑time.
Contract: Secondment (internal) or Fixed‑term 12‑month (external).
