Job Description
A dynamic and expanding business is seeking a highly capable Senior Financial Accountant to join its central finance function. This is a technically demanding role suited to a qualified accountant with a strong grounding in group reporting, compliance, and audit, particularly in multi-entity or international environments.Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will help ensure the integrity of financial reporting and controls, support group consolidation, and manage technical accounting and statutory compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP).
* Manage year-end processes including preparation of group and subsidiary financial statements. Act as main liaison for external auditors.
* Draft and review technical accounting papers (e.g. PPA, IFRS 16, intercompany policies). Maintain awareness of changes to accounting standards and their impact.
* Oversee preparation of corporation tax returns and other statutory obligations.
* Drive efficiency through process enhancements, automation, and improved internal controls across finance operations.
* Lead the financial integration of new acquisitions, including system alignment, consolidation, and policy standardisation.
* Monitor and forecast cash flow. Ensure robust banking controls and fraud prevention processes.
* Support payroll review and ensure timely submission of employer-related statutory filings (e.g. P11Ds, ERS returns).
* Manage a small finance team, including development, goal setting, and performance reviews.
Candidate Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 3+ years of post-qualified experience.
* Strong experience in group consolidations, multi-entity accounting, and intercompany transactions.
* Prior involvement in preparing statutory accounts and liaising with auditors.
* Demonstrable technical accounting expertise and ability to interpret and apply accounting standards.
* Comfortable working across multiple reporting jurisdictions and currencies.
* Experience with acquisition integration and technical documentation.
* Excellent Excel skills; competent with accounting systems and ERP platforms.
* Organised, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
