AssistantHeadteacher – Headof Sixth Form
As a member ofthe Senior Leadership Team, the Assistant Headteacher – Head of Sixth Form willprovide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Sixth Form,ensuring:

The postholderwill contribute to whole-school leadership, promoting excellence, drivingimprovement and embedding the school’s distinctive Christian ethos.

StrategicLeadership (Whole School)

* Leadagreed whole-school priorities

* Contributeto performance management and CPD through line manage selected subject areas

Leadershipof the Sixth Form
* Providea clear vision and strategic direction for the Sixth Form
* Leadthe academic and pastoral provision for Years 12–13
* Ensureconsistently high expectations and a culture of excellence
* Linemanage Sixth Form staff, including Deputy Head of Sixth Form, post 16 PastoralSupport Officer including effective delegation and support within their areasof responsibility
* Leadershipof the Form Tutor team
* Workwith Exams Team to support internal and external examinations
Curriculumand Teaching
* Leadthe strategic development of the Key Stage 5 curriculum, ensuring it isambitious, inclusive and responsive to student need and school context
* Contributeto whole-school curriculum thinking, ensuring that Sixth Form provisionreflects and builds upon the school’s curriculum intent and vision
* Ensurethe curriculum supports high-quality teaching, strong outcomes and appropriatepost 16 pathways
* Workwith SLT and middle leaders to secure consistently high-quality teaching andlearning across the Sixth Form
* Contributeto whole-school strategies to improve teaching, including CPD, coaching andevaluation activities
* Ensurethat provision is research-informed, inclusive and aligned with whole-schoolexpectations
* Modelexcellent practice in teaching and learning
* Overseethe delivery and administration of the Extended Project Qualification
Achievement
* Leadregular evaluation and review of Sixth Form provision, including subjectperformance, student experience and value-added measures
* Useinternal and external data to inform strategic decision-making, curriculumchanges and intervention planning
* Challengeunderperformance and support curriculum leaders in securing improved outcomesat Key Stage 5
* Leadon monitoring, evaluation and review for Sixth Form, including lesson visits,work scrutiny, student voice and data analysis
StudentExperience and Pastoral Care
* Ensurehigh-quality pastoral systems that support wellbeing, inclusion and belonging
* Establisha culture of excellent behaviour, attendance and student engagement
* Developa strong personal development and enrichment programme
* Developand enhance student leadership opportunities so that Sixth Form learners areregarded as role models and ambassadors
* Fosterleadership, service and responsibility in Sixth Form students
* Ensuresafeguarding systems are robust and consistently applied
* Promotea strong safeguarding culture
Accountability and Governance
* Takeresponsibility for the analysis, evaluation and reporting of Key Stage 5performance data
* Provideclear, accurate and strategic reports to the Governing Body/Trustees on:
* Studentoutcomes and progress for Sixth Form
* Retentionand recruitment of students
* Post-18destinations
* Qualityof provision and strategic developments
* Contributeto self-evaluation (SEF) and improvement planning, particularly in relation toSixth Form provision
* Ensurethat Sixth Form provision is fully aligned with Ofsted and SIAMS expectations
* Accountablefor the allocation of bursary funding
Post-16 Recruitment, Marketing and Transition
* Leadthe strategic marketing of the Sixth Form, promoting a strong and compellingvision of the “7-year journey” from Year 7 to Year 13
* Ensurethat the Sixth Form is positioned as a natural and aspirational progressionpathway, both internally and externally
* Overseethe development of high-quality marketing materials, events and communication,including open evenings, taster days and digital presence
* Leadingthe Sixth Form team through enrolment and induction processes during the summerperiod, supported by SLT arrangements
* Workwith SLT to ensure alignment between Key Stage 4 provision and Sixth Formrecruitment strategy
* Developstrong relationships with feeder schools and external partners to supportrecruitment
Post-18 Progression, Destinations and Careers
* Leadthe strategic development of post-18 pathways, ensuring all students arewell-prepared for their next steps
* Oversee UCAS, apprenticeships andemployment routes, ensuring high aspirations and successful outcomes for all
* Trackand analyse student destinations data, using this to inform improvement andevaluate impact
* Ensurethe school achieves strong and sustained positive destinations outcomes(including minimal NEET)
* Ensurethat year 12 to year 13 retention is strong through a positive Sixth Formexperience
* Workwith the Careers Leader (or lead this area where appropriate) to ensureprovision meets the Gatsby Benchmarks
* Developstrong partnerships with universities, businesses, employers and trainingproviders to enhance opportunities
* Ensureall students receive high-quality, personalised information, advice andguidance (IAG)
