- SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - JAVA - AZURE - DATA MIGRATION - HPCC/ECL - £580 - REMOTE -
I've partnered with a client who are undertaking a big data migration and need a contractor to assist with the project. This project is expected to last until mid-late 2026!
Contract info:
* 6-month initial contract (2026 expected project completion date - extension highly likely)
* £580 INSIDE IR35
* Fully remote
Role info:
* Software Engineer in Data Engineering team
* Java
* Azure (a bit of AWS would be a bonus)
* HPCC/ECL (bonus experience)
* Git - GitLab/GitHub
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
* Hands on experience on Cloud Technologies - Azure/ AWS.
* Ability to work with complex data models.
* Proficiency in development languages including but not limited to: Python, Java, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and JSON.
* Familiarity of industry best practices - code coverage.
* Experience working in software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
* Experience working with Git - GitLab/GitHub.
* Knowledge of test-driven development.
* Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills.
* Experience in HPCC/ECL is highly preferable
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
* Complete moderate to complex bug fixes.
* Work closely with other development team members, Quality Analysts and Business to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
* Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
* Resolve technical issues as necessary.
* Keep abreast of new technological developments.
* Make major code design and changes to new & existing products and be a primary point of contact for products they develop or own
