Nursery Practitioner, Newport, £16 per hour
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for a passionate and committed Nursery Nurse to join our agency team, supporting well-regarded nurseries in the Newport area. This role is ideal for an individual who is enthusiastic about early years education and enjoys working in a dynamic and supportive nursery environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality care and learning experiences, using your knowledge of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to help children reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
5. Support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework, planning and delivering engaging activities that encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
6. Create a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where children feel secure, valued, and inspired to explore and learn.
7. Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, outdoor play, personal care, and rest periods, ensuring children’s individual needs are met.
8. Build positive and professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
9. Encourage children’s confidence, independence, and curiosity through play-based learning and meaningful interactions.
10. Maintain accurate observations and contribute to children’s developmental records and learning journeys where required.
11. Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child welfare, following nursery policies and procedures at all times and reporting any concerns promptly and appropriately.
12. Promote a positive and inclusive nursery environment that supports the wellbeing and development of every child.
Required Skills & Experience
13. Level 3 Early Years qualification, such as a Diploma in Childcare and Education or a Certificate in Early Years Practice
14. Minimum 6 months UK-based early years experience
15. Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, including its principles, themes, and commitments, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting
