To work as part of a managed team. Work to be of both complex and non-complex nature, responsible for minor repairs and routine planned preventative maintenance activities, as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures, and taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
The work does involve lone working which requires candidates to be able to identify various alarms and working in restricted places, it is therefore essential that candidates read the Job Description and are able to undertake all tasks required.
Main duties of the job
To carry out tasks reactive and ppm tasks issued by the team leader and also when required assist other team members in carrying out repairs and assists Tradesperson who are undertaking mechanical/electrical installations and/or enabling works, associated with a range of engineering systems

Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
1. First aid knowledge especially electric shock treatment
2. Knowledge of carrying out planned preventative maintenance on electrical / mechanical systems.
Desirable criteria
3. Basic plumbing skills.
4. Basic electrical awareness.
Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
5. English & Maths GCSE Grade 4 or above or Functional Skills level 2 or equivalent NVQ level 2 qualification preferably in engineering
6. City & Guilds or NVQ in relevant course
7. Manual Handling Training
8. Health and Safety Training
Desirable criteria
9. First aid at work
10. Safe release of trapped passengers.
11. Competent person Water systems.
12. Legionella awareness
13. TMV maintenance
14. NVQ level 2 or higher preferably in an engineering discipline
Experience
Essential criteria
15. Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision.
Desirable criteria
16. Experience using ppm systems and permit to works.
17. Experience of working in an acute hospital environment.
